AERIUS is the World’s Smallest Quadcopter Drone, and it is approximate as large as a quarter. Now that quadcopter drones are hotter than the fire itself. There are lots of manufacturers that are racing with each other to make bigger, faster, and more technologically advanced drones that are than ever before.
However, every UAV company is not running in this race. There are some industries, such as – Parrot and DJI duke that is out to be the race of the biggest and the worst. Whereas Axis Drones is running in the other direction. It is in the process of making smaller and smaller quadcopters with each new generation.
Axis Drones World’s Smallest Drone. This latest release drone is called Aerius. Also, it is really a little Drone. Its size is just three centimeters long in measurement. It is three centimeters wide, and two centimeters tall. This drone’s footprint is approximate as bigger as a quarter. Now you can imagine how small it is.
It is undoubtedly small in size, but that does not mean that it is lesser than larger drones in terms of technology. You can get approximately the same stuff that you get in a drone i.e. 100 times to its size. It includes adjustable flight control sensitivity, LED lights, 6-axis gyroscopic stabilization, intelligent orientation control. Moreover, also a set of pre-programmed aerial tricks that can execute the drone only at the push of a button.
The drone’s small size drawback is, it has a limited battery size. The onboard 3.7 v 80 mAh battery will get recharge only in 5-7 minutes, and are bigger batteries. AERIUS also recharges in just 15 minutes of total flight time, which is also not too bad. If we talk about range, Aerius boasts a 2.4 gHz transceiver, that means it can theoretically go only as far away from the controller as DJI’s Phantom drones. You can let them fly for long distance too although you will possibly face trouble.
Moreover, the best part of Aerius is that because of damn small size and simplicity, it will cost you a fraction of what most drones cost. There is a facility of choosing the color, as it comes in a variety of colors. For this purpose, you just need to pay 35 bucks. Pre-orders are also opened up earlier in this week, and Axis expects to start shipping in the next couple months.
