Wedding for any bride is the most important day of her life. And for Christine Quinn, the day would have been incomplete without a bridesmaid who has seen her grow everyday.  For Christine, her 89 years old Nana Betty was the perfect bridesmaid.

Elizabeth Govern, the grandmother was indubitably the prettiest and the happiest of all the bridesmaids. Christine wanted her grandmother by her side when she married Patrick in May. Julie Melton of Sweetwater Portraits who covered their wedding uploaded the photographs of the day online and it spread like wildfire. Huffington Post  interviewed Christine and she explained:

“While she doesn’t live that close, we have continually made it a point to spend as much time together as possible. She just has an amazing sense of humor and outlook on life that I strive to emulate every day. Everyone loves her.” [source]

The bride also said that her Nana made everyone laugh with her funny commentary and was the life of the party. For Quinn, it was a day that she will always cherish. Sweetwater Portraits blog showcases beautiful moments from the wedding.

When interviewed by BuzzFeed Life, she also added, “The decision was easy given the strength of our relationship, who doesn’t want her best friend standing beside her on her wedding day? Not to mention all of my friends love my Nana as well, so we all had a great time planning and spending time together. “She asked me about 10 times, ‘Are you sure?’ and ‘Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?’”  “A few times she even said, ‘All of your bridesmaids are young and pretty, why would you want me?’”

She told her Nana that she did not have to wear the same dress as the other bridesmaids or she could change her mind even on the wedding day, but then Nana Betty decided to be her granddaughter’s bridesmaid.

Quinn was delighted that she had Nana and the family by her side on the day she married her beloved.
